Lumber

The Lumber industry is a production of harvesting trees that is used for making furniture, buildings, paper, and ship buildings. Lumber is produced from both softwood and hardwood to create the materials being used by consumers.

Lumber Industry is broken down into three divisions the logging industry; sawmill industry, and the panel industry. The logging industry includes cutting down the timber in lengths and transported by truck to the saw mill. At the saw mill the logs are passed through a debarker and then placed on steel carriage to be cut. However the panel industry uses glue and pressing techniques to materials left over into flat panels of wood.

Lumber has been used by humans to utilize wood for construction for thousands of years that has caused the industry to slow down due to the economy.

Cane Toads

Cane Toads is an invasive species in Australia, which were brought from Hawaii to help their crops from the cane grubs. In 1935 Australia was introduced to the cane toads to control the destructive of the cane beetle population.  It turned out to be a failure. The cane toads were successful at reproducing and spreading themselves among the population.

The cane toads grew well into millions that cover thousands of square miles in Australia which now are considered as pest s. Their numbers are manageable in their natural habitat but survive in Australia because of fewer natural predators, breed easily and have plenty of food.
Cane Toads are not known as harmful but carry a mix of toxins that primarily affects the functioning of the heart. This venom is a milky liquid from a gland located over the toads shoulder. However it can be painful but humans rarely die from it.

I had to blog this because just knowing how a species can be introduced for good and fails, and after it has taken over the environment it is hard for the citizens to get rid of theses now known as pests amphibians.

Commercial Farming

Commercial Farming is performed on a large scale, with the help of machine like treshers, harvests, tractors, etc. In commercial farming crops such as wheat, tea, coffee, sugarcane, cashew, rubber, banana, and cotton are harvested and sold into world market.

Despite technological advances, such as improved varieties, genetically modified organisms, and irrigation system is still a key factor in agricultural productivity, as well as soil properties and natural communities.
The effect of climate on agricultural is related to variability’s in local climates rather than in global climate pattern ,on the other hand, agricultural trade has grown in recent years and now provides significant amount of food on a national level to major importing countries, as well as comfortable income to exporting ones. Commercial farming has the international aspect of trade and security of food need to consider the effect of climate change on a global scale. While staying focused on maximizing the crop and maintainig a good soil.Six key factors help with the Commercial farming is location, climate, raw materials, market forces, labor and transportation to maintain crops and business.

Evolution

Society has a way of perceiving evolution in many ways because it involves change, extinction, humans and religion. However evolution is defined in many ways and is often confuse with two different aspects of the definition. Well evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain those (Moran, 2002).

Although evolution is a natural or artificially induced process by which new and different organisms develop as a results of change in genetic materials to reflect back to Darwin’s theory.  Moran, 2002, states that Darwin’s theory supports that all living organisms presented on earth today have arisen from previous forms in the course of earth’s long history.
As I continued to gain knowledge on how scientist and religion perceive evolution, I’m still confused on how we were all created. To me no one has given a clear explanation as how to how all species were created. Yes there are proven facts that traces back to extinction and changes of a species. On that note I am still unsure on some things, but do believe in both faith and science.

Oil

Oil plays a big role in our society in the form of positive and negative affects it has on our environment and wildlife. When it comes to oil everyone one needs it, use it, and has great demand for it, but in the end it’s abused.  Oil has been around for many decades that have provided energy for homes and gas for vehicles.  Society has now abused the oil and the environment is suffering from high gas prices, oil spills and damaging the atmosphere.
Oil spillages in the ocean cause the oil to spread out over the surface of water that affects commercial fishing, food and tourism.  Oil causes harm to the wildlife through physical contact, breathing and absorption that leaves the fish contaminated, and spreads to other animals and humans.
Oil can remain in the environment long after a spill event, especially in areas sheltered from weathering processes that has a long term effect on the environment and may never be cleaned up.

Water Pollution

When it comes to water pollution there are various causes, some are natural, some are manmade and some natural, but worsen by human activity. Water pollution is the contamination of water bodies that affect plants and organisms causing damaging effects to species and populations.

Man is the main cause of water pollution because of plastic, empty cans, bottles and other trash has replaced the fishes and other creatures that lived under the water (Fiest, 2007). The article hold truth when it mentions we as people contaminated water with chemicals such as body soap, shampoo, and laundry soap without looking at the harmfulness it causes to our environment.

According to Fiest another main cause of water pollution are toxic substances coming from industrial, agricultural and domestic use, which traces back to lead, sewage, power plants and manufactories that contaminates the water with toxicants.

The country as a whole need to educate people on the long term affects of water pollution. If society continues to make awareness and solutions then maybe we can save our future generation.

Air Pollution

When I think of air pollution I in vision transportation and, machinery's that release a chemical into the air and can become harmful to our society, but I have researched and found out that there are several types of air pollution that can be as harmful. Air pollution in cities around the world causes roughly 2 million premature deaths each year (Fraser, 2006). The WHO program known as World Health Organization has made awareness to society that people health is at risk from high pollution in the environment.
The Who program suggest to find a way to cut air pollution in half to protect people from heart disease, respiratory and lung cancer by putting in place requirements to help decrease the toxins in the air. By doing that, WHO says reducing theses harmful particulate matter levels can reduce death from air pollution by 15 percent per year (Fraser, 2006).
In the end I feel like air pollution has a big impact on the deadly diseases we encounter. I think Illness is on rise with cancer and respiratory breathing because the air is full of poisonous chemicals and toxins.  As a society we need to continue to educate our country and people on taking proper precautions to help decrease air pollution for future generations.
